ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!
The car park will be clearly signed once you turn onto Grafton Road. Please see registration pack for further details on parking fees. If you are paying on the gate please have the right change ready to prevent queuing. All vehicles must follow the directions of the marshalls when parking.
Please note that all cars are left at the owner’s risk. We have a baggage storage/key drop area if you do wish to leave valuables in a safe place. Please do not queue to enter the car park before it opens as this poses as issue for other traffic accessing Grafton Road.
CAR KEYS AND BAG DROP
We will have a FREE bag drop area in the Registration tent where you will be able to store any luggage if you require.
Car keys should be placed in the personalised envelope that you are handed when you register and handed in at the key/bag drop. All keys and bags are left at the owners risk and Uventure Run Ltd are not liable for any loss or damage to such property.
A safety briefing will be given to each wave before they start. Any runner who misses this briefing cannot take part in the Uventure Run so please make sure you are registered and at the start area at least 5 minutes before your warm up time.
Toilet facilities will be available and sited in the Village. We will provide a good number of toilets but there may be a queue just before the run kicks off. Please arrive earlier if you don’t want to queue!
FOOTWEAR AND CLOTHING
All runners must wear suitable footwear; enclosed shoes so that toes and feet are fully protected, with decent soles. Trail running shoes are recommended.
Please note: if you are not wearing suitable footwear, you may not be allowed to run, so if you have any queries about footwear please email us in advance.
Runners should be aware of the weather forecast and bring appropriate clothing. Good quality running gear is recommended. Gloves are a good idea if you are concerned about potential scratches from rough wood/bark. Sunglasses and watches will get lost if they are not secured. iPods will definitely not survive the mud and water! Remember to bring a change of warm clothes, shoes and towel for the end of the race.
We are happy to welcome runners wearing fancy dress. However, your costume has to be course-friendly. There are obstacles including deep water and obstacles that would be tricky in a very large costume! We reserve the right to restrict or ban inappropriate fancy dress costumes.
Please stay within the course boundaries whilst taking part in the event. These will be clearly signed and marked out. There will also be marshalls throughout the course to provide support and assistance if needed. If you have any issues whilst on the course or injuries please report immediately to a member of staff.
There will be opportunities to re-hydrate during the course, we include water stops at 3k, 6k and 9k so there will always be plenty of opportunity to rehydrate should you need to.
The finish line is very close to the start area and both will be located in The Village.
6K/12K runners - Please collect your Uventure Run t-shirt and finishers medal once you cross the finish line! You will need to show your wristband to a marshall at the finish line to receive these.
***Please ensure you check the size of your t-shirt as soon as you receive as we are unable to change t-shirts after the event***
Junior runners - Please collect your Uventure Run finishers medal and certificate once you cross the finish line! You will need to show your wristband to a marshall at the finish line to receive these.
***T-shirts are NOT included in Junior entry prices.***
Cold water showers will be available to get the worst of the mud off. Please bring your own towels (and a change of clothes) - baby/face wipes are also good for getting mud off! We will be providing male/female changing areas where you are welcome to change after the run.
MONEY: CASH MACHINES
There are no cash machines on site so please bring cash with you for food and drinks.
Spectators are very welcome as entertainment and refreshments will be available in The Village. Spectators must not obstruct the course or the runners, and must stay in permitted areas at all times. Entry is FREE for spectators however car parking charges will still apply.
The Village will be open throughout the day for spectators and runners before and after they have raced. There will be hot and cold food available to purchase including breakfast rolls in the morning and BBQ food in the afternoon as well as a range of confectionery and snacks. We have a full size pub complete with beer garden selling alcoholic drinks and stalls providing a range of drinks such as cold cans, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. We also have a live DJ providing tunes all day in the event village area to keep the atmosphere lively.
We also have a company providing inflatable activities which will be available to keep you entertained (weather permitting) throughout the day! Tickets for these are available to purchase on the day .
Photography on the day will be provided by Sports Action Photo. A link to the photo site will be posted on the Uventure Run website and on our Facebook page as soon as the images are available after the event.
If the course is reviewed prior to the Uventure Run and deemed unsafe due to extreme weather conditions, we will reschedule the event. Please check our website and Facebook page in addition to your emails for updates in the week before the Uventure Run. If we were forced to delay the event, we will email you as soon as the decision is taken. You would be given automatic entry into a rescheduled event or another Uventure Run at a later date. Although this is unlikely to happen and we haven't had to reschedule an event yet we always put the safety of our runners at the forefront of everything we do, should a situation arise where we need to reschedule the event we reserve the right to do so.
ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES
First aid trained staff/marshalls will be available at the Uventure Run and will deal with any accidents or injuries. There will also be a full medical team covering each event we hold complete with paramedics and a triage area. We also have a qualified water rescue team covering sections such as the lake swim and who will be in the water providing assistance to all runners. Should you require medical assistance we urge you to immediately speak to a member of staff so we can ensure you are properly cared for and removed from the course safely should you need it.
If you find any lost property at the Uventure Run, please hand it in at the registration tent. If you lose property, please go to the registration and report it lost.
The Uventure Run is held in Kettering, Northamptonshire. We're just located off the A14 Junction 10 and easily accessible from the Midlands, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire and London. We hold 3 events each year.
